Letterspacing

In typesetting, the addition of small spaces between letters within words to make the total line length come out to a desired value. It is sometimes used when the addition of normal amounts of space between words is insufficient to make a line come out to the desired size. Most experts say that letterspacing creates ugly line, and should be used only in emergencies.
