Telnet
If you have telnet access to your server then life is much easier. For Telnet I use NCSCA Telnet, it has been around for many years and always seems to work regardless of the OS version. It offers multiple windows and easy shortcuts.
The only drawback is that it has no login scripting or a way to easily map the function keys to anything, but for reliability and price (free) it can't be beaten. Of course telnet access means that you will have to learn some Unix commands.
