Identifying upper case letters
There are twenty-six letters in the alphabet.
| A | Two vertical lines that meet at the top and a horizontal cross bar. | B | One vertical line with two semicircles on the right side. |
| C | A semicircle opening to the right. | D | A vertical line with a semicircle on the right side. |
| E | A vertical line with three cross bars to the right. | F | A vertical line with two cross bars facing right, one in the middle and the other above. |
| G | A semicircle or circle shape with a line on the lower right pointing downwards or inwards. | H | Two vertical lines with a linking horizontal cross bar. |
| I | A single vertical stroke. | J | A single vertical line with a curve at the lower left. |
| K | A vertical line with angled bars on the right side, one pointing upwards, the other downwards. | L | A vertical line with a horizontal line at bottom left. |
| M | Three downstrokes joined at the top with a diagonal line. | N | Two vertical lines linked by a diagonal beginning at the top of the left vertical. |
| O | A circle. | P | A vertical line with a small semicircle at the top right. |
| Q | A circle with a finishing stroke or tail at the bottom right. | R | A vertical line with a semicircle and a diagonal downstroke on the right. |
| S | A snake shaped line running from top right to bottom left. | T | A vertical line with a horizontal cross bar at the top. |
| U | Two vertical lines joined at the foot by a curve. | V | Two diagonal lines that meet at the foot, with an open angle at the top. |
| W | Two Vs side by side. | X | Two crossed diagonals. |
| Y | An angle open at the top with a line continuing the lower point of the angle. | Z | Two horizontal lines above one another linked by a diagonal running from top right to bottom left. |
