Can I catch a disease during an erotic massage?
It is very unlikely, as body fluids are usually not exchanged during an erotic massage.
Erotic massage professionals are more likely to be both healthier and better educated about risks than the average man. And they are usually very careful about limiting sexual contact with clients.
However, if either partner has an STD and both partners have open wounds or broken skin, and these come into contact, there is an increased risk of contracting a disease.
The best way to protect yourself is to have blood tests that show you do not already carry an STD. It's a good idea to ask the erotic masseur if he is also disease-free, before he starts the massage.
If you expect to have sexual intercourse or to exchange bodily fluids with a sex worker, you might ask him to prove that he is disease-free.
