The big issue of penis size: how small is too small if you're a "real" man?
Men are increasingly convinced that their penises are not long enough. That if they had bigger penises life would be better, more pleasurable, and more "normal".
The idea seems to be that if you have a big penis, you can feel big about yourself, proud of your penis. But if you have a small one then you should feel ashamed, inadequate and inferior and
immediately set about trying to enlarge it, no matter the cost to your body, your penis or your self esteem. Otherwise, you'll never be a "real"
man.
Of course, measuring your penis in the first place is one of the easiest ways of worrying and depressing yourself, especially if you compare your findings with your estimate of how big the "average"
penis is supposed to be.
When limp, most penises measure somewhere between 1 and 4.5 inches (2.5cm and 11.4cm). When erect, they normally vary between 3.5 and 7 inches (8.8cm and 17.5cm). (These figures are from the
only reliable survey ever conducted. Only 3,500 North American men were assessed by Dr Kinsey in 1948. As such the numbers are mostly useless.)
Limp penises are easily affected by temperature. In a hot steamy change room, most penises will dangle and droop nicely, but catch them in a draught of cold air or dip them in a swimming pool
and they'll soon shrivel up to nothing. Nervous situations don't promote the profile of your penis either.
Most penises don't vary that much in size when erect. If you were to look around a crowded changing room you'd see penises of all shapes and sizes. And they are when they're limp. But erect
they all roughly even out.
Generally, smaller penises will increase in size more as they grow erect than larger penises, which may just stiffen rather than expand.
But what if the size of your penis is at the smaller end of the scale? If it really worries you and you feel you need to do something about it, the best thing is to learn more about how to
have good sex. Learn about foreplay, learn how to massage, learn how to give long lingering kisses and to have a sensual touch.
If you're worried about how you rate as a lover, it's not your penis size you'll be considering. Even if you have a penis 12 inches long, as thick as your wrist and as rigid
as steel you can still be an insensitive, unsensual and selfish lover.
It's not the quantity that counts, it's the quality: of the whole person not of the penis.
